Our commitment

For a sustainable future

DOpla promotes sustainability through innovative solutions and environmentally friendly materials. Our sustainable disposable tableware is designed to accompany evolving consumer tastes and habits, offering convenience, safety and reduced environmental impact.

With a firm commitment to reducing CO₂ emissions, we work every day to build a greener future. We use recycled plastics, compostable biopolymers, responsibly sourced paper, and adopt high-efficiency technologies such as trigeneration to optimize energy use.

Our Path to Net Zero

Our commitment to sustainability is not just a statement of intent-it is a concrete and measurable path. At DOpla, we have laid out a roadmap toward the Net Zero goal by 2050, aiming for zero netCO2 emissions.

By certifying an organization’s Carbon Footprint, we have an accurate mapping of our current emissions. This allows us to know our starting point and clearly identify areas where we can take action to reduce our environmental impact.

Our strategy is based on three main axes:

  1. Increasing energy efficiency
  2. Increasing the transition to renewable and clean sources
  3. Continue to innovate using materials that are sustainable and support the circular economy

Achieving Net Zero is an ambitious but necessary challenge. And it is a path we face with accountability, transparency and long-term vision.

Sustainable Production at Zero Impact

At DOpla, we believe in a concrete green economy based on measurable actions and tangible results. Our daily commitment is aimed at reducing our environmental impact through a sustainable production model that focuses on: zero waste, zero emissions, reducing the volume of plastic packaging, and optimizing transportation and logistics.

We are constantly investing in research and development of environmentally friendly solutions to improve every stage of the production cycle-from design to distribution-reducing consumption, emissions and waste.

Plastic scrap generated during processing is fully recovered and fed back into the internal production cycle, contributing to a circular and environmentally friendly supply chain. This allows us to turn every scrap into a new resource, without generating waste.

As for paper, the non-reusable material is given to external operators specialized in recycling, thus ensuring proper disposal and recovery according to current environmental regulations.

Trigeneration plant

In 2019, DOpla started, in collaboration with ENEL X, the installation of a trigeneration plant at the Casale sul Sile plant, operational from February 2021.

This plant enables the simultaneous production of electricity, heat and cooling energy through methane gas combustion, generating several advantages: reduced consumption of fossil sources, lowerCO2 emissions, water savings due to closed circuits, 20-30% reduction in energy costs, and greater energy independence.

Photovoltaic system

As part of initiatives to reduce our environmental impact, the installation of photovoltaic systems is one of the most significant interventions.

At our plants, we have activated a system capable of generating up to 180,000 kWh of solar energy per year, making a concrete contribution toenergy autonomy and the transition to renewable sources.

This energy is used directly in production processes, with the dual advantage of lowering environmental costs and limiting the use of fossil fuels. For us, photovoltaics is not only a technical choice, but a key piece of a more efficient and environmentally friendly industrial model.

The plant produces 1,200 kW of electricity and 850 kW of cooling energy, thanks to a system that recovers heat from engines and exhaust gases to generate chilled water at 7°C. Thanks to this plant, an annual reduction of 3,430 tons ofCO2 is estimated.
